Introduction

  • This is a guide to creating PVP teams that work well together. In my experience, this is essential to holding your own in PVP, especially if you are a free player. This guide will start with teams of low cost, building up to the dream teams. Feel free to comment on ways to improve, as this will be a work in progress over the next week or two.

Synergy: A How-To Guide Basically, Synergy is defined as the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. In our context, it means finding the perfect combination of Hero to Hero to Agent, in hopes of destroying our opponents. For our purposes, we won't be factoring in Agent Levels, Hero PVP bonuses, or armory bonuses. The basic formula for a good team will be this:

  • Hero1 (Base Hero):
    • Has a specific move or moveset to build the rest of the team off of
    • Also includes some form of a buff of debuff beneficial to another teammate's moveset
  • Hero2 (Supplementation):
    • Able to build off of and augment the Base Hero's moveset, usually with some buff needed to increase the damage of their premier move.
    • Also has a passive that can help the team, and does not overlap with the passive of another hero
  • Hero3 (Supplementation):
    • Able to build off of and augment the Base Hero's moveset, usually with some buff needed to increase the damage of their premier move.
    • Also has a passive that can help the team, and does not overlap with the passive of another hero

Now, the reason you don't see the agent in one of those catagories is because some really good teams require the agent to be the Base Hero, due to their having a weapon that is the main way of taking out the opposing team, though usually the agent is buffing support. Of course, anyone could argue on a million different ways you could work this, but this is the most basic way of putting it, and how I am creating the rest of the teams listed here.

Low Cost Teams: Less than 90 Total Cp

Cyclops Icon Large 1Iron Fist Icon Large 1 Cyclops and Iron Fist

  • Why It Works
    • This team is amazing for first timers. Iron Fist's
Effect BG 3 BlueEffect Icon 017
Combo Breaker is especially useful in this case, and the counter attacks from Cyclops's L6 helps as well. In regards to how they work together, the
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 018
Weak Point from Cyclops's L2 is great for setting up for a L2 from Iron Fist. It doesn't hurt to have
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 017
       Flanked either.
  • How To Supplement It
    • An agent with a tool that applies
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 080
Combo Setup, like the Welrod Silenced Pistol, will help greatly in this instance, and isn't that hard to acquire. Other than that, the agent is free to have whatever other gear they wish. For E-Iso, Iron Fist's will really help a lot, Cyclops, not so much. Iron Fist's A-Iso doesn't do much to help the team, but is still welcome notheless. With alts, Cyclops's Phoenix 5 outfit will help a lot, especially if Iron Fist is able to use his L9 on a turn with that buff, and Cyc's L6 buffs applied. Cyclops's other outfit will be useful in keeping your team alive, and Iron Fist's Heroic Age outfit will exponentially increase your team's power.

She-Hulk Icon Large 1Iron Fist Icon Large 1 She-Hulk and Iron Fist

  • Why It Works
    • I like this team due to the nice mix of
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 080
Combo Setup synergy between the pair and the nice passives they both have. With She-Hulk, it's a bit of a long shot due to the randomness of the debuffs applied, but you can still manage the completely shut down follow-up and counters with her L2. Iron Fist is able to work with this by preventing any other counter/follow-ups not stopped already by She-Hulk.
  • How To Supplement It
    • Like the Cyc/IF team up, equip the agent with a
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 080
Combo Setup gear. Also, try to find something that applies some form of an opportunist debuff, to back up She-Hulk's L6. Also, get She-Hulk's E-Iso. It will greatly increase the power of your team. It is especially useful in preventing damage intake from the opponent, due to the low defensive capabilities of She-Hulk. As usual, Iron Fist's E-Iso and Heroic Age outfit will really help, and She-Hulk's new outfit really won't make much of a difference in this team, but equip it if you want to reduce the amount of damage she takes from DoTs.
  • An Additional Note
    • For sake of space, I will say now that Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and She Hulk all can work well together in their own ways. Try pairing any combination of them to see what happens. Sometimes, you'll find that Cage's protect-and-counter buff can make or break your team, or
Effect BG 3 BlueEffect Icon 017
Combo Breaker is essential to winning. In any case, these three characters can be a true driving force in PVP.

Sif Icon Large 1Black Cat Icon Large 1 Sif and Black Cat

  • Why It Works
    • This is a classic example of a bleeding out team, with a special stat lowering/increasing side added to the mix. In this team, we focus on either Nerve Chop or Leaping Slash, or both, per your preferences. Honestly, this team can seem somewhat bland, but try looking closer. I've seen Black Cat take out an enemy with a
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 002
       Bleeding x3 and
Effect BG 3 GreenEffect Icon 035
Stroke of Luck applied, and they were at 75% health. Also, Leaping Slash can prove to be effective if used often enough.
  • How To Supplement It
    • Costumes are key here. Try mixing Black Cat's Infiltrator Catty costume with any Sif costume for high damage output. Pair with an Agent with Cat's Claw or Ironstar for maximum bleed exploitation. With E-Iso, the damage can be furthered, with an almost guaranteed three stack of bleeds on an enemy. A-Iso can be used for different purposes, but make sure to have Cat's A-Iso equipped, and try using an
Effect BG 1 GreenEffect Icon 084
Epiphany applying A-Iso on her L6 for maximum damage on her L9. Honestly, this team's effectiveness is all a matter of how you look at it. Personally, I think that the key is an Ironstar, but most people can't afford that, so just stick with what you have.

Standard Cost Teams: Less than 300 Total Cp

Scarlet Witch Icon Large 1Emma Frost Icon Large 1 Scarlet Witch and Emma Frost

  • Why It Works
    • You'd be surprised with this one! This is the type of team I use to cover all the bases. Combines all the features used by any hero between the two. By this, I mean: Evading, taking reduced damage, applying a plethora of debuffs, buffing the team, healing the team, stunning the enemy, increasing stats, and restoring stamina. Also useful is the fact that enemies can have their attacks backfire, and they can suffer extreme damage thanks to
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 083
Mental Anguish, if you use it correctly. Honestly, it has potential to be an amazing team.
  • How to Supplement It
    • Costumes can be useful, though not that much. E-Iso are useful as well, and A-Iso crucial.
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 076
Mind Control is another buff that can be used to your advantage, and pair that with a
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 076
Weak Mind A-Iso to increase psychic damage, and use the Fortune or Misfortune A-Iso based on how you want to take down the other team. Also, try mixing in the
Effect BG 1 BlueEffect Icon 132
Combat Casting A-Iso to Scarlett Witch on her L2 for an extra kick. Agent can serve any role in this case due to its versatility.

Gamora Icon Large 1X-23 Icon Large 1 Gamora and X-23

  • Why it Works
    • This is the perfect Killer Assassin team-up, great for anyone who wants to take out the enemy as quickly as possible. This team is based off of
Effect BG 2 RedEffect Icon 129
       Fatal Blow and
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 002
Bleeding, something both heroes are capable of applying. When using, lead off, as always, with Gamora's L2 and X-23's L1 or L2. From there, hope that Gamora's counter procs, and use
Effect BG 2 RedEffect Icon 129
Fatal Blow accordingly. Try adding in an agent tool like the Marksman's Spotter to exploit
Effect BG 1 BlueEffect Icon 001
       Deadly Crits.
  • How to Supplement It
    • X-23's costume can make all the difference, but only if Gamora can apply
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 012
Pressure Points on her L1 with the A-Iso. If you have that set up, use X-23's L6 combo to your advantage. Gamora's costume can be useful, but use based on your available resources and preference. The agent should use a weapon that can apply
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 002
       Bleeding or
Effect BG 1 RedEffect Icon 083
       Doom, like an Ironstar.
