The continuing series continues. I am in the process of leveling my last few heroes from 10 to 11 and took the opportunity to redo Spiderwoman as she completed her training last night. So, let's go deep into Spider-woman

Spider-woman

The first thing you're probably wondering is, why bother? And you're kind of right. With the Momentum Generator changed beyond recognition, the good old days of overloading a scrapper with Unstoppable are gone. And with the wealth of scrappers out there that have a wider range of skills, my Spiderwoman has gotten some dust on her. But, she has some things to tantalize (aside from her pixels).

The Logic

First, we gotta talk about using Spiderwoman. She has one of the great L1 attacks in the game, as it's got two hits (so even though the accuracy is so-so, she usually connects at least one hit) and it crits over 50% from the jump. Her Venom Blast is also useful (against some foes, I like to set the DoT first) as are her Pheromones (not PVP useful, but PvE useful, for sure). Her bread and butter is her L1 and those frequent crits.

Spider-woman also starts with a relatively balanced build. Good starting health, accruacy, evasion, very buildable attack. Not a high defense, and her stamina is a bit low. Now, You could have a strong impulse to just chunk a whole lot of Chaotics on her, which will push up her stamina and defense into the acceptable range (3 bars), move her evasion and accuracy close to 4 bars and push her attack close to 5 bars. Since my Spider-woman is L11, here's what straight Chaotics would look like:

That's not bad, but it's not ideal from a functional point of view. If we build her evasion up, the defense becomes less necessary. At my level, she doesn't have a single attack that costs more than 850 stamina. So, even though her stamina isn't that great, it doesn't need to be any better than not that great.

This build uses:

  • 5x Steady (Health, Attack, Accuracy)
  • 2x Deft (Health, Evasion)

This build could be a bit more conservative by adding another Deft in place of a Steady, which should produce 4 bar evasion, and more health. The reason this is conservative is because we've build the health to make her less prone to dying in one shot. Iso'ed like this, her attacks are listed at 92% with a 60% chance of crit on the Brawl skill. That's success. That's what I started with when I wrote this post. Want to see an aggressive build:

This build uses:

  • 6x Mercurial (Attack, Accuracy, Evasion)
  • 1x Dextrous (Accuracy, Evasion)

That produces the five bar attack (woot!) with high 4 bar on Accuracy and Evasion and says, "Since we have more EVA, we don't need the health." This produces 93/63 Hit/Crit on the Brawl skill. This is aggressive. This is how I'm going.
