So I was thinking the other day about what heroes this game still needs to add, and yes I know I already did a list of those heroes I thought ought to be added next, but that list just concerned itself with heroes I thought should be or could be added in the near future. There were alot of heroes I would like to see, and still think we'll see that I left off due to the fact I felt they weren't as important to the game as those I did list. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be added, just that if they are going to add any heroes next I felt those I listed would benefit the game more.
Anyways. as I was saying I still have a large number of other heroes I think could be added to the game, and rather than just make a huge list of EVERYONE I think should be in, I thought it would be more fun if I broke them up categorically and made seperate blogs for the different classifications. As such this first list consists of only female heroes.
Now before I get into the list, let me just say I don't think female heroes are really underepresented in this game all that much. In general there are more male superheroes running around the Marvel universe than females, so it only makes sense that the roster is a little lopsided.
Anyways, on with the show...
Angela - The first of the many repeats from my previous blog, Angela is a new addition to the Marvel universe, joining it after getting her start in the spawn universe. I won't go into too much detail about her since I already talked about her in my previous blog, but her introduction into the Marvel universe fits very well into the incursions happening in season 2.
Arachne (Julia Carpenter) - Before I even say one word, yes I think it would be a tad redundant to have 2 Spider-Women on the roster, but luckily Arachne has a different power set from Jessica Drew (aka the current Spider-Woman) and a swanky outfit that looks much different. As far as importance goes Julia is a solid B-rate hero, but it would be nice to see her added at some point in the future.
Armor (Hisako Ichiki) - Armor is one of the more popular picks on this list, as I have seen her mentioned in many forums concerning who should be added. I find her mutant ability to be really unique and to see it incorporated into the game would be alot of fun. My only problem with her is that she is a mutant and we already have tons of those as is, not to mention the many more that could still be added.
Aurora (Jeanne-Marie Beaubier) - I believe I mentioned Aurora before in a previous list, so I'm not going to delve too much into her here. To make a long story short having her added would also pave the way to see her brother Northstar added, which is a popular pair.
Abigail Brand - I would like to say that Abigail Brand is one of the lesser powered heroes on this list, but that's not true, she does have some assumedly alien abilities that she uses from time to time. But I think what really makes her shine is the fact she relies more on her practical skills and S.W.O.R.D. weaponry and training to win a fight. Plus since it seems we'll be getting more cosmic Marvel heroes in the near future (Guardians of the Galaxy for example) it would make sense to include a member of S.W.O.R.D.
Boom-Boom (Tabitha Smith) - I don't even know much about this character, but I love her abilities. She is able to produce plasmoids which function like time bombs, and depending on the size they can be incredibly destructive. I figure she could work alot like Fixer in terms of in-game combat.
Sharon Carter - Now here is a female hero that doesn't even have any superpowers or high-tech weaponry. Sharon Carter is a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent who makes use of her skills, abilities and S.H.I.E.L.D. issued weaponry to aid her in combat. This character may be somewhat simplistic, but it's not the only un-powered hero in the game. Plus with the Agent Carter TV series coming out it would be a nice touch for Playdom to play off that by introducing this character.
Colleen Wing - Another un-powered hero on my list, Colleen also appeared in another one of my blogs as a character I think should be added. To keep things short, she is a highly skilled fighter and often uses her katana in combat.
Crystal - Another popular character that many people have been hoping for. She is one of the Inhumans in the Marvel universe, posessing the power to control four elements: earth, air, fire and water. Aside from the fact that she is an Inhuman and therefore related to Black Bolt, Quicksilver and Johnny Storm also have some serious history with her.
Dagger - Much like Aurora, Dagger works closely with her partner Cloak, using their powers in conjunction with one another. Thus including her in the game would also make way for Cloak to be added as well, although there is no reason she couldn't function on her own.
Darkstar (Laynia Petrovna) - Now I limited this list to female heroes, but Laynia is one who I think would be best served as a villain who later becomes available as a lockbox hero. This seems to be the same idea they will be incorporating for the Winter Soldier as Playdom has said that currently he is only planned to be included as a villain.
Dazzler (Alison Blaire) - Another popular pick and another mutant hero to make the list. Dazzler uses sound to generate different light constructs to do her fighting with. Dazzler is also notable for being married to Longshot, another popular request for a character to be added. Again this is a character who could play off of other characters or help introduce others.
Dust - Yet another mutant to come out of the X-men series (see what I am saying about too many mutants?), Dust controls the ability to turn herself into a sand-like substance, which she can then use for deadly force. Not only that but Dust would also be one of the few characters to come from outside either the US, UK or Canada.
Firestar - Now Firestar isn't a hero I am really fond of, but she is a rather popular character, so I think she should be included. However I have to say personally I have alot against her; she's another mutant and has fire powers (and we already got Human Torch and Sunfire who are primarily fire-based). Plus I was never really into her costume...
Hellcat (Patricia Hellstrom) - Now I'll admit I am not too familiar with Hellcat, but upon looking up some info on her I think she would be an interesting addition to the game. With somewhat demonic powers Hellcat would bring some more mystical elements to the game, although she is not a sorcerer by any means.
Jubilee - I don't think I really need to say anything about this pick, a very popular request and another mutant. If you want to know more about her you can see my write-up on her in my previous blog.
Misty Knight - A fairly popular request, although not by me, Misty Knight possesses a bionic right arm which she uses in conjunction with her natural abilities to combat her foes. She also uses firearms in combat and has a friendship with the aforementioned Colleen Wing.
Magma (Amara Aquilla) - So given what I've said so far you may think I am against Amara, but you'd only be half right, because while I lament the fact she is another mutant on this list, I have no problem with her powers. They aren't truly fire-powers as she can only control molten rock and not fire itself (although she can envelop herself in fire). My real gripe with her is her origin story, which I find to be rather...dumb.
Marrow - Another character I am not too fond of, and not just because she is another mutant addition. However it's not because she is popular that I added her to this list, but I genuinely think her power set would make for a fun character to use in this game. Plus given her history she could originate as a villain to then later become a lockbox hero.
Medusa - Ok, so I've just finished reading the Infinity series which features the Inhumans to a large extent, but of them there are only a few I think are worth adding to the list, and Medusa is one. Having control of her super-powered hair, Medusa's attacks could be widely varied and fun to use.
Namorita - Yet another character from my previous blog, Namorita would be a welcome addition to the game as she could help usher in Atlantis into the game as well as Namor. We've heard mention of Atlantis in the game already, and if my hunch is right the story in season 2 chapter 4 is hinting towards a trip to the bottom of the ocean.
Red She-Hulk - Again this is another hero I had mentioned previously, so to keep it short we already have Hulk, Red Hulk, She-Hulk, so why not have the next popular hulk in the game? We got 1 green male hulk and 1 green female hulk, but only 1 male red hulk, so let's even the odds.
Shanna - Because there is much support for a Ka-Zar inclusion into the game it would make sense to also include his better hal, Shanna the She-Devil. Residing in the Savage Land with her husband including her could also mean we'd get to see the Savage Land in game!
Silver Sable - Another possible lockbox hero, Silver Sable is a mercenary pure and simple, so her allegiences aren't set in stone. Nonetheless she is able to tangle with the big boys despite not being superpowered in any way.
Songbird - Looking over this list I feel if I had to choose only one hero to have added it would be Songbird. Yes there may be others who have a stronger following seeking their introductions, but as far as the Marvel universe is concerned Songbird is a pretty big mover and shaker, especially when you consider how she started as Screaming Mimi the villain and became the notable hero she is today.
Stature - Another character I believe I mentioned in my previous blog, Stature would no doubt function much like Ant-Man but possibly have a more aggressive style. Plus being one of the Young Avengers her inclusions could lead the way for others to be added.
White Tiger (Ava Ayala) - Now White Tiger isn't that popular of a request for this game, but after watching the Ultimate Spider-Man series I have to say I have a soft spot for this character. I am not a fan of her by any means, but I feel she would be a nice addition to the game, being somewhat similar to Iron Fist or Tigra in her approach to combat.
So that wraps up this blog, but I'm thinking I will have two more blogs to follow this one. Next up, I hope to cover International Superheroes!
