PVP Tournament: Season 12
Setup
This is the season of the Synthetic Cube, and it's clear that people without it are struggling.
I began the season with the Cube, Protector of Attilan, Shepherd's Staff, and Savant's Spear on offense, and replacing the Staff with the Magnetic Field Generator on defense. I quickly swapped out the Spear for Mystic after seeing it on defense and realizing how effective it is.
I'm not satisfied with my offensive gear selection (even though I am winning over 80% of my fights). When facing the Mystic I often have nothing to do with my agent on the first round, and wind up smacking someone with the Protector, which is not ideal. I'm considering adopting my defensive gear for offense -- I could MFG on that first round, and maybe pick up some ex…
PVP Tournament: Season 11
SPOILER ALERT: I finished in Vibranium again.
There were a lot of changes this PvP season. The biggest one for me was that they removed the ability to ghost tank. This was probably a smart move for game balance (and, um, logic), but I can't say that I was happy about it, since I had gotten used to it. I began the season not entierly confident that I would be able to do well without it.
I had outleveled my Kuzuri badly enough that I switched it out for the Watcher of Attilan. I was sad to lose the counter-attack, but the minimal damage that my counters did wasn't worth holding onto it instead of getting the Watcher's level-appropriate damage and Distraction effect. PVP Tournament: Season 10
The Blackheart fights totally killed my enthusiasm for running two accounts, so I abandoned the Playdom one. Unfortunately, this means that I'm not really having a pure "free player" experience anymore, because I've paid for gold for CPs on the Facebook account and bought past Special Operations heroes with them, which a totally free player probably wouldn't have been able to afford. And one of those heroes I'm running for PvP this season.
At the end of the last season, I was happy enough with my team, but feeling like Iron Man Mk 42 could use replacing, largely because I was tired of giving Tacticians extra turns. PVP Tournament Seasons 8 and 9
I started playing Avengers Alliance shortly before the beginning of PVP Tournament Season 8 on Facebook. Shortly after it began I started a second account on the Playdom site. I'm thinking that my experience of recently taking two accounts from level 1 to 70 playing through the Special Ops and PVP tournaments, might be useful to new players, who sometimes struggle with getting advice on the forums that is actually applicable to their situation.
