Most likely people that went to San Diego Comic-Con has seen this trailer already, but to those that haven't, here's the video.
At 0:20, we can see the Tab for Season 2 Chapter 1, with Mystique as one of the possible Bosses in Mission 2, Dragoness as one of the possible Bosses in Mission 3, Vulture as one of the possible Bosses in Mission 4, Gambit being the required Premium Mission Hero and the Fixer being one of the possible Premium Mission Bosses.
"Engage in a classic Marvel encounter!" — Heroic Battle
At 0:29 - 0:35 we get to see a glimpse of how the Heroic Battle works. We see Rogue and Gambit against three Prime Sentinels.
...and a glimpse of the Facebook accounts of devs John and Sam. /joke
"Stop Heroes from another Earth!" — Incursion
At 0:41 - 0:45 we get to see a preview of the Incursion feature. The second screenshot above shows how they tally the requirements to achieve the mastery for the chapter. Also, Heroic Age Iron Fist in brief action too.
So the mastery system is now about completing every single fight, deploy, heroic battle, that other dimension thingie, etc. thats how they are sure we will have iron fist, really cool indeed. But not really excited for the bosses on chapter 1 if they are really the bosses, just for Selene and Sugar Man
Needing to do everything does not intimidate me, I do that anyway, and since the hero who gets the costume could be needed as at very least a deploy in some chapter, that answered my question about how it would work if the character who gets the new alt is not used for the premium mission, the answer it would not so they will be needed at some level no matter how tiny.
Look, Woods basically outright said in no short words they will not give a hard date for season 2, and I personally doubt they will give a hard date to anything ever again in the wake of the season 2 fiasco, so even if they are planning it for this week, they will never admit to that date, we get it when we get it, and on the whole Buzz Lightyear off topic, he's not Marvel, he's a friggin Toy Story character, fun is fun but drop it, has no place here.
I'm getting the message that with this system you can't stop mission/chapter mastery, like not 5 starring a mission for farming reasons. The longer you play it, you are bound to master it, fight by fight, deploy by deploy and there is no abort.
I think everything looks great and I hope this comes soon. With most players wrapping up the SO, the anxiety for new content is starting to come back. The Heroic Battle looks interesting, if onyl for the fact that I'll probably be using heroes that have been demoted to deploy duty :)
just a guess, I'll go with the bottom two being boss defeat and the epic boss defeat seeing how they all have the one under heroic battles glowing and they're all unlocked and the purple one being the lowest one in quantity.
I dont know about the blue one at the top though..maybe regular battles..not sure.
I think it is rather interesting in that, yeah, you'll be able to play Season 2 content as long as you've basically got PvP unlocked, yet, by the looks of things, completing Season 1 will go a long way towards mastery in Season 2. I think this will reward the players that have completed everything in Season 1, as new players aren't going to be able to do a fight right away that requires both Gambit and Rogue (180 CPs), but new players will still get to experience the new content at the same time as long-time players, unlike when new chapters opened in Season 1. My question is, what will requirements be for unlocking subsequent chapters in Season 2? Will the game look at last completed mission plus total mastery stars, or only the last completed mission plus the total mastery attained in Season 2 only.
Great. The bad thing is in order to master a chapter, you need to complete EVERYTHING, so you need to the heroes for every deploy, weird "Iconic Battle Thingamajig" practically making every chapter an epic boss. I may be wrong though. Don't quote me on this.

It's not known if you need to do a certain number of deploys or certain deploys. You can give your panties are partial untwist.
