Ride of the ValkyrieEdit

These 25 Tasks need to be completed in order to unlock and recruit Valkyrie.

Beast, Kitty Pryde, Storm, and Wolverine are needed to complete task 25. If you don't have enough Command Points, you may want to save 25 Gold so you can skip the task. Defeating monsters and bosses in the normal chapter won't count toward task completion.

The tasks have to be completed in the specific sequence. Except for Task 10 and 24, a task can only be completed if previous tasks are also accomplished.

TasksEdit

1. Prison Break

• Defeat 3 Escaped Prisoners
  • Escaped Prisoners are still at large throughout the city, armed by and assisting super-powered villains. They can be found in Mission 1: The Hunt Begins. Normal Missions don't count.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hints:

• Escaped Prisoners from Story Missions 3.1, 4.1, 6.6, and 9.1 do not credit this task

2. On Call

• Complete a Deploy
  • Deploy heroes to advance through a mission. Deploys reward items and powerups.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 1000 Silver

Hints:

• Deploys in a standard Mission count.

3. Demolition

• Defeat a Mini-Boss in Mission 1
  • Defeat either Wrecker or Piledriver in Mission 1 to complete this quest.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 200 XP

4. Frosty the Giant

• Defeat 3 Jotun
  • Jotuns are Frost Giants from the cold wastelands of Jotunheim. They can be found in all missions of Spec Op 5.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 1 Command Point

Hints:

• Jotuns from Normal Missions don't count.

5. Mirror Mirror

• Defeat Enchantress
  • Enchantress is the Boss of Mission 1: The Hunt Begins.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hints:

• There are three rounds and she will appear in all three rounds.
• Quicksilver's Blinding Punches or Invisible Woman's Force Cage (on the giant) will bypass Amora's Guard giant allowing you to attack her directly and cause her to Flee, also removing the guard giant. However, this will lower your point total.

6. Skaal!

• Research the Mead Horn in the Lab
  • Duration: 8h
  • Cost: 100 Silver & 60 Unstable Iso-8
• Research the Mead Horn to complete this task.
• Requires 20 gold to skip
• Reward: Mead Horn

Hints:

• It's cost efficient to exchange 6 Gold for 60 Unstable Iso-8 rather than paying 20 Gold to skip if you don't have enough Unstable Iso-8.

7. Resource Management

• Collect 10 Unstable Iso-8
  • Unstable Isotope-8 can be found in normal combat, as well as rewards from deploys and boss fights. You can also get some from your friends!
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: Spec Op 5: Mission 2 Unlocked!

Hints:

• It's cost efficient to exchange 1 Gold for 10 Unstable Iso-8 rather than paying 10 Gold to skip if you don't have enough Unstable Iso-8.

8. Break Things

• Defeat a Mini-Boss in Mission 2
  • Defeat either Thunderball or Bulldozer in Mission 2 to complete this quest.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 1000 Silver

9. Fang of the Dragon

• Use Valkyrie's Dragonfang 3 times
  • Dragonfang is Valkyrie's second ability, which restores her health when it defeats enemies. Valkyrie is a Team-Up in the first and third Spec Op 5 Missions.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

10. Mission Accomplished!

• Get 2 Stars of Mastery in Mission 1
  • Complete missions to add points to your cumulative score. Achieve a high enough score to earn a new Mastery Star!
• Requires 20 gold to skip
• Reward: 2000 Silver

11. Best Served Cold

• Upgrade Laufey's Knife to Laufey's Needle
  • Duration: 24h
  • Cost: 100 Silver & 80 Unstable Iso-8
• Laufey's Needle can be researched after acquiring Laufey's Knife.
• Requires 20 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hints:

• It's cost efficient to exchange 8 Gold for 80 Unstable Iso-8 rather than paying 20 Gold to skip if you don't have enough Unstable Iso-8.

12. The Scourge

• Defeat Executioner
• Executioner is the Boss of Mission 2: A Beast at Bay.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 3000 Silver

Hints:

• You only have to knock out Executioner to complete this task. Winning the fight is not necessary if you are two or three birding the bosses. 

13. Phone a Friend

• Collect 3 Distress Calls
• Distress calls can be collected by visiting friends.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: Spec OP 5: Mission 3 Unlocked!, 1 Command Point

Hints:

• If you can't get additional Distress Calls from your friends, use up the ones in your inventory first.

14. Pick Your Norse

• Take 2 Asgardians into Battle
• The Asgardians are an extradimensional race of super-powered humanoids. Thor, Sif, and Valkyrie are all Asgardians. Valkyrie and Sif are Team-Ups in this Spec Op.
• (you can use the same asgardian twice)
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hints:

• This task does not need to be done in a Spec Ops battle.
• Two Asgardians can be used in a single battle to complete the task.
• One Asgardian may be used twice to complete this task .
• You can use Team-Ups in standard missions such as 1.5 (team-up with Thor) if you have no Asgardians on your team and want to conserve Unstable ISO-8 on this task.
• If you have Sif and/or Thor, you may also do this in Practice PVP to conserve energy and maximize your resources if you are still farming for the required heroes for deploy.

15. Frequent Flyer

• Complete 3 Flight Deck Missions
• Send any hero on any flight deck mission.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hints:

• Run several 10-minute Flight Deck Missions if you're in a hurry.

16. Staff Meeting

• Upgrade Odin's Cane to Odin's Staff in the Lab
  • Duration: 48h
  • Cost: 300 Silver & 120 Unstable Iso-8
• Odin's Staff can be researched after acquiring Odin's Cane.
• Requires 20 gold to skip
• Reward: 1000 Silver

Hints:

• It's cost efficient to exchange 12 Gold for 120 Unstable Iso-8 rather than paying 20 Gold to skip if you don't have enough Unstable Iso-8.

17. My Life For You

• Use Valkyrie's Sacrificial Blessing
• Sacrificial Blessing is Valkyrie's third ability, which reduces her health to resurrect an ally. Valkyrie is a Team-Up in the first and third Spec Op 5 Missions.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hints:

• There was a known issue with the task that required the use of Dragonfang instead. The issue has since been corrected.

18. Shadow Boxing

• Defeat 5 Illusionary Lokis
• Loki has been creating illusions of himself to throw us off his trail. They can be found in Mission 3: Götterdämmerung.
• Loki will scatter if faced with a magic or ranged attack. The ideal heroes are Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 3000 Silver

Hints:

• The Epic Boss Loki of Mission 5.3 does NOT count.

19. Instability

• Collect 20 Unstable Iso-8
• Unstable Isotope-8 can be found in normal combat, as well as rewards from deploys and boss fights. You can also get some from your friends! You can use 2 gold to buy 20 Iso-8 instead of using 20 gold to skip it.
• Requires 20 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hints:

• It's better to exchange 2 Gold for 20 Unstable Iso-8 rather than paying 20 Gold to skip if you don't have enough Unstable Iso-8.

20. Wreck the Crew

• Defeat 4 Wrecking Crew Members
• Defeat Wrecker, Piledriver, Bulldozer, and Thunderball in any of the Spec Op 5 missions.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hints:

• Completing Normal Mission 5.3 allows you to complete this step without using any Iso-8

21. Battle Royale

• Win 1 PVP battle
• Compete in PVP to test your skills against other players. PVP requires completing Chapter 1 Mission 4 of Story Mode.
• Requires 50 gold to skip
• Reward: 4000 Silver

Hints:

• If you're banned from PVP, you must skip this task to advance. Can be done in Practice.

22. Stampede

• Use Valkyrie's Flight of Valkyrie 3 Times
• Flight of Valkyrie is Valkyrie's fourth ability, which removes the counter-attack ability from all enemies. Valkyrie is a Team-Up in the first and third Spec Op 5 Missions.
• Requires 10 gold to skip
• Reward: 100 XP

Hint:

• If you are trying to complete this task during the final boss fight in Mission 3, one option is to lose the fight after using Flight of Valkyrie 3 times. This will allow you to fight Loki again and complete the next task without having to replay the entire mission. However, this will cost you 20 uISO and severely reduce your mission score if you are trying to achieve Star Mastery.

23. Master of Illusion

• Defeat Loki
• Loki is the Boss of Mission 3: Götterdämmerung.
• Requires 20 gold to skip
• Reward: 5000 Silver

Hint:

• Loki from Normal Mission 5.3 doesn't count.

24. Star Search

• Complete 3 Stars of Mastery in all Spec Ops 5 Missions
• Complete missions to add points to your cumulative score. Achieve a high enough score to earn a new Mastery Star!
• Requires 25 gold to skip
• Reward: 1 Command Point

25. Utter Destruction

• Defeat Destroyer
• Destroyer is the Epic Boss in Mission 1: The Hunt Begins. HINT: Participate in Deploys as soon as they appear.
• Requires 25 gold to skip
• Reward: 1 Command Point and Valkyrie

Hints:

• The Heroes required for deploys are Kitty Pryde (33 CP), Beast (90 CP), Storm (48 CP), and Wolverine (90 CP).
• This is the longest Spec Op, with a lot of time to acquire Command Points. For details, see How to get More Command Points
• It may be better to use 25 gold to skip this task than to recruit all four heroes if you don't have any of them, since the total cost is 261 Command Points (131 gold). If you skip, you will not be able to fight Destroyer and will not have a chance to acquire Monstrosity.
