Mr. Fantastic Dialogue 1

MR. FANTASTIC

Whatever our enemies think they're doing with Iso-8, we'll do them one better.
Mr. Fantastic Icon Large 1

Prologue - Welcome to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Training - Use of ISO-8

Start

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Maria, how's Research coming along with the ore?

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
Meteorite, yes they say it may match a material known as Isotope-8.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Iso-8? Heard of it, never seen it. Didn't think it was capable of generating these readings

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
It's not. This is purer. I believe the Pulse may have brought this material with it.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Reed? Was I not fantastic enough, Fury?

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
You're good with hardware. When it comes to mysteries from space, Richards is the guy.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Data indicates transient benefits are absorbed by anyone exposed to it. We may be able to harness this.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
That must be what everyone else is thinking.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
I believe I could socket this into a suit with metaconductive filaments like your S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform. Need some time.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Not much of that, Richards. Agent, up to being a guinea pig?

Socket that Isotope-8 to your suit and get Research back to producing new gear and supplies.

Complete

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
This Iso-8 seems to be enhancing the Agent's health.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Like a healing factor?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
No, an overall gain. The Agent's vitals are stronger.

Given the energy signature variance, it appears Isotope-8 may have varieties that create different enhancement effects. If I'm correct, then even the weakest opponent could match our strongest heroes with enough exposure to this. However, even those with super-powers can also benefit. If we can recover more, even the Hulk could be made more powerful--as unlikely as that seems.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Got it. We need more of this stuff... bad guys need less of it.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Keep your eyes open for more Isotope-8. It might give us the edge we need.

Chapter 1 - The Pulse: Mission 5 - O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Complete

Thor:
Thor Icon 1
He has vanished.

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
Confirmed. Not certain how, but Loki's gated everyone out except for a few stragglers S.H.I.E.L.D.'s cleaning up.

Thor:
Thor Icon 1
He knows of the cosmic stones we have been seeking.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
I'm sure he does. Seems like everyone does.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
It doesn't make sense. They seemed organized, sweeping the city for the Iso-8 we detected.

Captain America:
Captain America Icon 1
But A.I.M. and Hydra are like oil and water. They actively hate each other.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
And Loki isn't exactly a team player, either. Something has brought them together. Something we have zero intel on.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
And now, thanks to Iso-8 exposure, even two-bit hoods pose a threat to us.

Thor:
Thor Icon 1
A common brigand managed to cut me with an ordinary blade.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
My theory is that along with the larger chunks of Iso-8 a charged cloud of Iso-8 dust has settled on the city.

It seems to have a measurable decay rate, but its effects will grow stronger before they peak and start to recede.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
We need to secure purer samples of Iso-8 to stay ahead of the curve.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
This is just the beginning, Agent. You keep things under control while we work on what was behind these attacks.

Chapter 4 - You, Foe: Mission 5 - Command Performance

Mini-Boss - Madame Masque

Reveal

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Reed Richards here. I'm running the surveillance videos from the Empire State Building area and I'd say that looks like...

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Madame Masque.

I'd say her appearance here does a nice job of connecting the dots from the Maggia to HYDRA to Doom, wouldn't you?

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
I'd say we don't know.

If we've learned anything about the Pulse, we know that it shuffled around all the alliances we thought were stable.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
I'm already here. I'll pay her a visit and see what she has to say.

Start

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
What did Doom offer you to be his cat's-paw, Guiletta?

The Maggia are no one's pet! Doom doesn't know everything he thinks he does.

And you are never going to tell him I said that. The U-Foes may have failed to get rid of the Fantastic Four, but Madame Masque will not!

Madame Masque:
Madame Masque Icon

Repeat

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
I'm not ready to believe that the Pulse means criminal lunatics are going to run the world.

Going to? Reed, darling, we already do. Madame Masque:
Madame Masque Icon

Complete

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Madame Masque is all wrapped up.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
In your arms? How romantic, Reed.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Is it ever. Now let's get a team over here so I can let her go.

Mini-Boss - Crimson Cowl

Start

Reed Richards, the world's smartest man. Crimson Cowl:
Crimson Cowl Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Flatterer. I bet you tell Tony the same thing.

It would be lying to you both. Viktor von Doom is more brilliant by far! Crimson Cowl:
Crimson Cowl Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Smart enough to get you to fight for him, at least.

Complete

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
That was predictable. You get the advantage over the Cowl and she teleports away.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Every time.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Unless you disable her cowl.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Right, I didn't think of that even though you just told me.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Both of you shut up. Bickering between egotistical intellectuals is against S.H.I.E.L.D. regulations.

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
Agent, looks like the way to Doom is clear.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
That's unfortunate phrasing.

Boss - Dr. Doom

Start

Reed Richards. Quite a marvelous substance, this Iso-8, is it not? Dr. Doom:
Dr. Doom Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
It is. Which is why we can't let you have any.

Too late. I already have quite a lot. And soon I will have much more.

My first show trial of its powers will be on this very building! The Empire State Building will become Doomlabs!

Dr. Doom:
Dr. Doom Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Doomlabs. At least your branding is consistent.

Complete

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Another feint, Nick. The minute Doom thought he might be seriously challenged, he disappeared.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
He's already issuing communiques from inside the Latverian Embassy.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
So what was this Doomlabs thing supposed to be?

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Stand guard there until a S.H.I.E.L.D. recovery team pulls Doom's tech out of the Empire State Building.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
You'd better hurry, Nick. People are getting anxious out here.

If Doom's not going to do something spectacular, they want to get back to their shopping.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Reed, the Defense Department has an urgent problem with one of their top-secret labs.

But they're too proud to ask me.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Too proud, or they just don't like you?

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Anyway, they're asking for your help. This infiltration might be related to the other cyber-attacks we've seen.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Okay.

Complete

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
All set.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Any evidence as to who did it?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Not yet. I've got data to look at. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Chapter 9 - The Syndicate: Mission 1 - The Boss is Back

Mission Start

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Agent, you're back in the field as of now. I've got a two-part briefing.

One, there's a jailbreak at Ryker's. It appears to be centered on the Raft, but regular inmates are being used as cover. Two, take a look at this. We got a coded anonymous message. Reed broke it, and...

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
This is more than a jailbreak. You're going to find a couple of unexpected inmates when you run these coordinates.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Nick and Maria are somewhere on Ryker's.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Tony, I’m—

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
I know. We’re all doing something else.

You want to be the one who wouldn’t answer the call and then have S.W.O.R.D. fall out of the sky?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
I don’t need a guilt trip.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
I don’t want to give you one. I just want you to go.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
S.W.O.R.D.’s system security is restored.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Any clues about the intruder’s identity?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
None. It was powerful, and very familiar with their system. Or that’s what it looked like. But it didn’t leave specific traces.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
That’s what the Hulk said too. Can we take countermeasures?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
I wrote and installed tracking subroutines. We’ll see what they get if this happens again.

Mini-Boss - Dr. Doom

Reveal

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
Is that Doom or a Doombot?

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
One way to find out. Reed, you ready?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
I guess the lab can run itself for a minute.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
So glad you could tear yourself away.

Start

Reed Richards. Attend the power of Doom! Dr. Doom:
Dr. Doom Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
This one's got to be a Doombot. That's a bit melodramatic even for him.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Make sure. Take it apart.

Complete

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Yep. Doombot.

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
We've got crews out cleaning up bits of the Servo Guards. One will recover this Doombot too.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Don't get the pieces mixed up on the way to the lab. Good Doombot specimens are hard to find.

Mini-Boss - Dr. Doom

Reveal

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Another Doombot?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Still only one way to find out.

Start

Doom speaks to you through this Doombot, Richards. Dr. Doom:

Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Enough already.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Doom? Hello? No answer. Too bad. I was hoping to send my own regrets.

I regret that this wasn't the real thing.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Next time, Reed. We're closing in.

Boss - Dr. Doom

Start

Reed Richards. How have you enjoyed this diversion? Dr. Doom:
Dr. Doom Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
To be honest, Viktor, I haven't paid much attention. Too busy working in the lab.

The seductions of Iso-8, yes. I know them well. Now you will see the work I have done. Dr. Doom:
Dr. Doom Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Always a pleasure to share lab results with my... ahem... peers.

Complete

Fools! You only trade the Doom you know for a more certain doom you can not even comprehend. I would have saved this world from the others, and now we will all suffer. Dr. Doom:
Dr. Doom Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Doom is back inside the embassy, Fury. Pursue?

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
Negative, Reed. Rules of engagement are clear on that. Even for Dr. Doom, Homeland Security can't throw laws of diplomacy out the window.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
He's a megalomaniacal maniac, but it sounds like he might know something we don't. We might not have another chance to get to him.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Easy, Reed. We did good here today. The Syndicate is shot to hell and all the villains are at each other's throats over Iso-8.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
And good old-fashioned power. Let's not forget that.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Victor. How's that Syndicate shaping up?

The Syndicate served its purpose admirably, Richards. Do not think you have seen through Doom's plans. Dr. Doom:
Dr. Doom Icon

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
I do in fact think I've seen through your plans. You tried to play Magneto and the Red Skull against each other, and loot everyone blind while they fought.

But you forgot that Magneto isn't quite the egomaniac you are. He'll fight the Red Skull any day, but he was never going to do your dirty work for you.

You seem to think your hindsight is insight, old adversary. Where ego is concerned, you and I are a closer match than you admit. Dr. Doom:
Dr. Doom Icon

Repeat

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
This fight will never end, Victor. There will always be people willing to fight and die to stay free from you.

As long as they die, they are welcome to fight. Dr. Doom:

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
The battle of wits between us was always pretty even. Doom's problem is he thinks resentment is a weapon, when in fact it's a weakness.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
We are so lucky to benefit from these insights, Reed.

Doom's problem is actually that he thinks you stole his girlfriend. Pretty simple.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
No, simplistic. Like all of your glib comments. Life doesn't reduce itself to clever bons mots, Anthony.

More wisdom!

Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
So have we. He's disabled security protocols in the whole building and locked himself inside. We can't get in.

Thundra:
Thundra Icon 1
I will, Richards. If you don't mind me kicking down the door, that is.

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
Feel free. The neighborhood association's been after me to renovate anyway.

On a more serious note: I've been doing some nanotech work that we do not want Savin to get.

Thundra:
Thundra Icon 1
You are welcome.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Time for a little intelligence sharing, Reed. Whatcha got?

Mr. Fantastic:
Mr. Fantastic Icon 1
It's not a viable design yet, but I'm always working on ways to extend the lives of different Iso-8 variants. I believe there are nanotechnological ways to do that.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
If you'll remember, Mr. Stark, Mr. Richards did much of the early work to understand the nature of Iso-8.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Um, yeah. That's because some of us were out fighting bad guys.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Much as I love an egghead catfight, we've got more immediate problems. Prep for trans-Atlantic flight. We're headed for Wakanda.

In other words, space rocks that give us super powers. I'm sure there are no side effects to worry about.

We are calling them Empowered Iso-8. Our simulations show that they will increase the combat capability of a hero considerably.

Empowered Iso-8 is broadly useful, no doubt about that. But perhaps we should be thinking... smaller.

We need a name for it.
