Demons: Recent Observations

Historic occult sources such as the Pseudomonarchia Daemonium present a highly misleading portrait of the true variety of infernal creatures. Purported arcane authorities are too often crackpots bent on forcing the demonic realms to conform to their own distorted conceptions of numerology and other such pseudo-intellectual junk.
At the other extreme, there are those who argue that demons have no true form, and manifest as they do at any given moment by tapping the deepest fears of potential prey. Psychological terror is certainly a powerful weapon and the cleverer demonic classes deploy it often, but it is of little use to consider the reason for a demon’s appearance when that demon is physically separating the parts of your body from each other.
The truth, as anyone who has ever fought a demon knows, is that no two of them are exactly the same. There are strains and variants, the individual members of which resemble each other, but demons are as unique as humans. All of them are fundamentally craven and utterly driven by the bases impulses.
The higher orders are of more interest, since it is they who create the lower demons. I have delved into the dangerous spaces of their minds and returned with the certainty that these following demonic powers are pursuing Iso-8 and banding loosely together to gather and use it:
Mephisto
Satana
Master Pandemonium
Blackheart
Baron Mordo
Others are without doubt also moving their forces to take control of Iso-8, or to take advantage of the obsession with Iso-8 that might distract a demon and render him vulnerable to surprise attacks. I will stand watch via astral projection and other means. If it were possible to use S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel to destabilize demonic hierarchies, this would be a powerful means of lessening their ability to strike directly at the material plane. Recruitment, therefore, of such persons as Daimon Hellstrom is strongly encouraged. Better to fight demons in their realms than wait for them to return to ours.
