There are terms in Marvel: Avengers Alliance that are used inside and outside the game, with various terms being used for faster communication on the game's community. Some terms are official to the game while others are unofficial. This is a list of all the terms and abbreviations in Marvel: Avengers Alliance and their corresponding definitions.
The list is arranged in alphabetical order. There are also existing terms specific to the Marvel: Avengers Alliance Wikia, and as such may or may not be official to the game.

- The method to deliberately slow the Level growth of the player's Agent in order to play in a lower Level bracket in PVP with a higher handicap and consequently have a better chance to win. This is done by participating in Low XP Battles and letting the Agent die to get the minimum amount of XP possible.
- Also known as Parking or Sandbagging.

- Refers to an Agent serving as a Tank in a battle with the use of Effects that grant Phased or any similar effect to the Agent. This makes attacks miss the Agent, and becoming untouchable like a Ghost. The most popular Gear used when Ghost Tanking is Sinister Scepter and Hoarfrost Mace.
- As of the October 1, 2013 update, Phased characters can no longer protect, making this strategy obsolete.
