Boss - MagnetoEdit
|Phoenix:||Magneto. These monstrosities are beneath even you.|
|Monstrosities? Hardly. Iso-8 is a message from the universe, bringing news of the end of Homo sapiens.
If you can't hear it, you're not listening. Nothing is beneath me if it will bring about the age of Homo Superior.
Epic Boss - MagnetoEdit
|Invisible Woman:||So you're using the U-Foes to do Brotherhood business. Do they know you're going to throw them away?|
|They know what they need to know. And they participate willingly.
What of you, Sue Storm? Will you hold with your freakish origins, or will you use Iso-8 and become something new?
|Invisible Woman:||I think I'll stay a freak, thanks.|
|It's a terrible feeling to be left behind, isn't it? Made obsolete? Supplanted? Destiny is cruel.||Magneto:|
|Your courage does you credit, Sue Storm. But this is a mutants' world now. Cosmic rays don't get you in the club, as it were.||Magneto:|
|Invisible Woman:||Wouldn't want to be in that club, Magneto. If it's so exclusive, how come you're using Iso-8 to make it bigger?|
|Does the trainer explain his reasons to the dog? I tire of this idiotic banter.||Magneto:|
|Nick Fury:||So Baron Zemo is running a lab where Mystique helps create mutated test subjects.|
|Tony Stark:||But Zemo is also sending HYDRA out to kill mutants. What's the game?|
|His game is genocide. As it always has been.||Magneto:|
|Nick Fury:||Holy-- security! We have a breach!|
|Calm yourself, Fury. Ask yourself, all of you: why would I ally with animals like Zemo and the Red Skull? Are you all truly so foolish?||Magneto:|
|Cyclops:||It's just like you to play both sides for your benefit, Magnus. If you're not, then prove it.|
|I intend to, when you're willing to listen. Until then.||Magneto:|
|Tony Stark:||...he's gone. Think he's telling the truth?|
|Nick Fury:||It doesn't matter. Priority One, we get Manhattan back under control.|
Boss - Magneto/MystiqueEdit
|Cyclops:||This is insane, even for you, Magneto!|
|Magneto:||For once we agree, Summers.|
|Magneto:||I know that's you, Raven. End this treachery before I end it for you.|
|...well, this is rich. You, talking to me about treachery! Are you with the X-Men now too?||Magneto:|
|Stopped me? You're getting ahead of yourself, old man. Iso-8 has finally given me the power to leave your shadow.||Magneto:|
|Welcome to die, X-Chicken!||Magneto:|
|Cyclops:||Alas, that was Mystique, not Magneto.|
|Magneto:||You will never trust me, will you?|
|Cyclops:||I haven't blown you to hell yet. I'd say that's progress.
And now I get to tell Tony he was right all along.
|Nick Fury:||Bring that machine back to the Helicarrier. Stark can look at it when he gets tired of being smug.|
|Tony Stark:||So the Syndicate makes Mystique their patsy and gets her to impersonate Magneto, while Doom provides tech to let her fly and complete the illusion.|
|Cyclops:||All so the Syndicate could divide the mutant populace, then conquer them.
Which Magneto could have just told us. Just want to point that out.
|Magneto:||I had to be sure before acting. Mystique deserved that, at least.|
|Tony Stark:||But we still don't know anything about this Circle of Eight.|
|Nick Fury:||The Syndicate's started to crack. One thing at a time.|
Boss - Red SkullEdit
|What an unexpected pleasure. You've grown up, Erich.||Red Skull:|
|Magneto:||And you are still the same, Johann.|
|There are certain truths that do not change, nicht wahr? One of them is that you and your kind are an aberration.
The dawning world has no need of you, no use for you, no desire to suffer your presence.
|Magneto:||Are you so certain you speak for the world?|
|You know it is the truth. Your Brotherhood stands for the same principles, from a different approach.||Red Skull:|
|Magneto:||The Brotherhood stands for our survival.|
|That ideal will die with it... and with you.||Red Skull:|
|Desperation breeds courage, Erich. But it is not an admirable courage.||Red Skull:|
|Magneto:||There is nothing I want less than your admiration.|
|I beg to differ. Soon, I will show you a great many things you do not want.||Red Skull:|
|Magneto:||The Red Skull broke free. But I have given you the gift of a HYDRA in turmoil.|
|Tony Stark:||We had that already.|
|Magneto:||Stark. Do you realize I could squeeze you out of that suit like pink slime?|
|Tony Stark:||You are such a charmer. I don't get why you're not invited to more parties.|
|Nick Fury:||Are you two finished? Doom's making an announcement. Chances are it's something we're not going to like.|
Mini-Boss - ToadEdit
|Tony Stark:||Test Subjects with Hellfire goons cracking the whip. Looks like the black pieces are holding the advantage.|
|Psylocke:||Toad's creeping in and out the back door here.|
|Magneto:||I never knew anyone more easily led than Toad. Where the Hellfire Club goes, he goes.|
|Psylocke:||Well, then, since we've put a bunch of them in the hospital, he ought to go there, too.|
|Psylocke:||He definitely had Mystique on his mind. But once he figured out I was hearing him, he was able to obscure the details.|
|Magneto:||Perhaps the Hellfire Club's black pieces are all doing that because of you and Emma... not to mention Charles.|
|Psylocke:||They can try. It never works for long. A true telepath can listen through any conscious noise.|
|Professor X:||Nevertheless, Erik is correct. We must pursue investigative avenues other than the telepathic.|
|Agent Coulson:||That's, um... ongoing. Although I'm sure you knew that because I was going to say it.|
Boss - MystiqueEdit
|Psylocke:||Toad led us right to Mystique. There she is.|
|Tony Stark:||That's always been a Hellfire safe house here. Wonder if Selene's hiding out in there too.|
|Tony Stark:||Psylocke, how about you drop in and see?|
|Psylocke:||Already on my way.|
|Magneto:||Have care, Betsy. Mystique is not handling my decision well.|
|Magneto:||She is consumed by hate. Unlike me. I am merely motivated by anger.|
|Psylocke:||That's one Hellfire safe house made unsafe for the Club. Orders, Director Fury?|
|Nick Fury:||Hear that, team? She finishes a mission, she asks for orders. I could get used to that.|
|Psylocke:||I save my dissent for when it counts.|
|Nick Fury:||This Excalibur liaison is going better than I could have hoped.
Get intel and forensics in there to see what we can learn from what they left behind.
|Maria Hill:||We've cleared the Hellfire Club safe house and intel is going through what we've recovered.|
|Tony Stark:||You will be shocked, no doubt, to learn they're up to something nefarious.|
|Professor X:||And that apparently Sugar Man isn't involved.|
|Agent Coulson:||The Hellfire Club is scouring the city for clues about the location of a particular magical object. We don't know yet which one.|
|Maria Hill:||Captain Britain and Union Jack are leading the investigation on the Excalibur side. They'll be sharing intel as it gets vetted.|
|Professor X:||Emma and I will also continue our efforts to circumvent Sebastian's defenses.|
|Magneto:||Not just you, Charles. Although it is typical for you to speak for all mutants.|
|Emma Frost:||Girls, you're both pretty.|
|Tony Stark:||Ah, I love good healthy bickering. Good to see you all working together.|
|Nightcrawler:||Each time I confront my mother, I emerge... ein bisschen müde.,|
|Nightcrawler:||Ja, aber... diese Kämpfe, die sind schwer. She points down a path I will not follow.|
|Magneto:||This should have been my battle to fight, perhaps. The Brotherhood is my creation. I am responsible to keep it in check for now.|
Epic Boss - Doctor OctopusEdit
|Captain Britain:||That's it, Director Fury. If there are any more Brotherhood personnel working with the Hellfire Club in London, we don't know about them.|
|Professor X:||I believe he is correct. The Hellfire Club is still a threat, but Magneto's defection has lessened the Brotherhood's commitment to them.|
|Magneto:||I suggest you continue looking for both Hellfire and Brotherhood elements. Mystique's resolve hardens by the day.|
|Nick Fury:||Helluva job, Captain Britain. Please convey that to the rest of the Excalibur Team.
Feel free to cross the pond and join the fight over there, too.
|Captain Britain:||Plenty to do here, but you know us. If there's need, we'll be there.|
|Magneto:||Pietro. Wanda. Someone-- perhaps Ultron -- has commandeered some of my M-Series Sentinels.
Kindly destroy them.
|Quicksilver:||Yes, Father. We exist, of course, to do your arbitrary bidding. Are these some of the talking Sentinels or not?|
|Scarlet Witch:||I think most of them can talk. They just have nothing to say.|
|Quicksilver:||Sentinels! Magneto made you, and now he has asked us to destroy you! His parenting skills on full display! What do you think about that?|
Mini-Boss - ToadEdit
|Tony Stark:||Toad? Who would put that guy in charge of anything? Even Magneto knew better than that.|
|Maria Hill:||This is the Circle of 8. They're not rational.|
|Magneto:||Toad has his uses. Mystique always seems to require him. That will not change.|
|Professor X:||I do not believe Mystique is nearby. There is another presence here... no. More than one. I believe one of them is the Living Monolith. Again they attempt to block me.|
|Scarlet Witch:||I will get a closer look.|
Boss - Living MonolithEdit
|Scarlet Witch:||All right. We got him. Now where do we put him?|
|Tony Stark:||The Raft for now. Until we can make arrangements at the Vault, or...|
|Maria Hill:||Or what?|
|Tony Stark:||Nothing. I'm just wistfully remembering when we could throw all the bad guys in the Negative Zone.|
|Magneto:||Dangerous ground, Stark. Don't go there.|
|Tony Stark:||I don't think we can afford to take any options off the table.|
Epic Boss - Sugar ManEdit
|Professor X:||It is as I had suspected. Abdol was not working alone here. He has Sugar Man for a partner.|
|Tony Stark:||Wherever there's a sneaky plan to experiment on Test Subjects, he seems to be around.|
|Professor X:||Erik. Let us remove him from the picture, as the saying goes. Preferably out of the dimension, but then someone else would just have to deal with him.|
|Magneto:||I will begin by getting him out of Alcatraz.|
|Oh, a prize subject you would be. So much raw material to work with...||Sugar Man:|
|Magneto:||Experiments on mutants... no. I have been subject of enough experiments. I have been on the inside of enough fences. No more.|
|You make it sound all ugly and painful, but you're only seeing one angle, Magnus. I can build a new species! Starting with you...||Sugar Man:|
|Magneto:||You learned all of Sinister's rationalizations. I'm sure he's very proud.|
|Perhaps one day you can meet him again and hear for yourself.||Sugar Man:|
|Magneto:||Sugar Man tried to shrink away again, but I have pinned him inside a graviton well.|
|Professor X:||Well done, Erik. Now we must decide what to do with him.|
|Tony Stark:||There are gravity cells in the Vault. My vote would be put him there.|
|Professor X:||You are confident it's functional again.|
|Tony Stark:||I may be flip and sarcastic and occasionally careless, Xavier, but I'm not about to suggest you put deadly enemies in a place where they'll just get out again. Okay?|
|Professor X:||Very well. Your impassioned defense has won me over.|
|Professor X:||Jean, you're letting her choose the mental terrain of the fight. She's dividing you against yourself.
Remember: She needles you about envy, but she would kill every living soul on Earth to get a taste of the Phoenix Force.
|Magneto:||No Hellfire Club title can compare. You know that. So do Charles and I. Fight from your strength, not Selene's choice of your weaknesses.|
Boss - Baron von StruckerEdit
|Maria Hill:||Baron von Strucker has just locked down a lab here, with himself and a crew of Test Subjects inside.|
|Magneto:||He's also sitting on a large stockpile of MGH serum. The Brotherhood allied with HYDRA... I still can't believe it.|
|Professor X:||It was inevitable, Erik. Mystique cannot resist HYDRA. We will continue to bring more of the Brotherhood into the fold as they understand what your absence means.|
|Magneto:||Time will tell. If we have any time.|
|Maria Hill:||Again we've got the troubling possibility that HYDRA and the Brotherhood are working together.|
|Agent Coulson:||Wonder if this has anything to do with Crimson Dynamo claiming the Brotherhood hired him and Blizzard.|
|Magneto:||An organization without leadership loses its ideals. And its standards.|
|Agent Coulson:||That's probably what HYDRA is thinking, Magneto. Without you around to guide them, the Brotherhood is vulnerable. Ripe for a takeover.|
|Magneto:||They may find Mystique stronger than they anticipate... and Sebastian Shaw as well.|
Mini-Boss - M-Class SentinelEdit
|Fantomex:||That's a tough group of Sentinels. Something's different about them. Magneto, did you--?|
|Magneto:||This is a chassis I created, but there are... modifications... quite different than my original template.|
|Magneto and his new arm candy. Come to teach me a lesson?||Mystique:|
|Arm candy. Heh.||Blob:|
|Magneto:||We have no hope of teaching you anything. We have come to tell you that you are betraying the cause you pretend to fight for.|
|Emma Frost:||Seriously, darling. Hiring HYDRA mercenaries? What do you think HYDRA will do to you if they succeed in crippling S.H.I.E.L.D.?|
|Magneto:||Freddie, would you kindly get out of the way.|
|In case you hadn't noticed, you ain't the boss anymore.
Besides, can't have you hurting my "little sister" can we.
|Emma Frost:||Don’t worry, Erik. I'm less arm candy and more "big sister."
Let me handle him.
|Magneto:||I no longer hope to convince you.|
|Good. In that, at least, you won't be disappointed.||Mystique:|
|Magneto:||A victory that does not feel like a victory. Pointless squabbling while the world burns.|
|Professor X:||There are battles that must be fought whether or not they can be won. This was such a battle.
Perhaps it has laid the foundation for a true success in a future we cannot yet see.
|Emma Frost:||Your optimism, Charles. How do you sustain it?|
|Tony Stark:||One of the Black Order has punched a hole in the Staten Island Ferry. So much for only going after young men.|
|Magneto:||I can hold it at the surface and bring it in.|
|Tony Stark:||Well, yes you can, can't you? Why didn't I think of that?|
|Magneto:||The ferry is safe.|
|Tony Stark:||I knew you weren't such a bad guy|
Boss - Magneto Edit
|Professor X:||Magneto. Arcade has captured even him.|
|Emma Frost:||Don't get fretful now, Charles. I will do what I must, as we mutants always do. So will Magneto.
Then we will find a way out of Murderworld and Arcade will answer particularly for his attempt to turn mutants against each other.
|Professor X:||Optimism, from you? I concur with Moonstone's earlier thought. Murderworld has unusual effects on its subjects.|
|Emma Frost:||You need to be here to truly understand.|
|Emma Frost:||Turned over an old leaf, darling? I thought we mutants were all going to be friends.|
|The current circumstance would seem to dictate otherwise. I fear I am an unfortunate opponent for you, Emma. All that psychic power, and none of it can touch me.||Magneto:|
|Emma Frost:||Magnus, dear, you know taunts come back to haunt. Arcade has dealt the cards. Let's play the game.|
|As I learned a long time ago, sometimes one must do unpleasant things to survive.||Magneto:|
Special Operations - Game On: Mission 2 - Mutant League (Villain Side)Edit
Boss - Emma FrostEdit
|Magneto, she's probably already trying to talk to you but we all know about your resistance to that kind of thing...
...so I'll just go ahead and introduce the divinely attractive, the devastatingly diamantine Emma Frost!
|Do forgive the excess. Miss Frost inspires it, I'm sure you'll agree.
Dress rehearsals are over. The command performance begins!
|Erik. This is a bit awkward.||Emma Frost:|
|Magneto:||For you, perhaps. You may be forgetting that I have spent my entire life fighting to survive.|
|Not just awkward, then. Melodramatic, too. Let us do what is necessary, darling. No blame.||Emma Frost:|
|Magneto:||I will make my own decisions about blame, Emma, thank you. But yes. Let us do what is necessary.|
|Magneto:||And so onward. What absurdities await, Arcade?|
|Magneto:||After all, we must survive this so we may take up our old rivalries once more.|
|Nick Fury:||People, we've got a brand new Sentinel force going after mutants in all of our operational zones.|
|Maria Hill:||Even Sentinels we had thought decommissioned have shot their way out of holding facilities and are in the field again.|
|Agent Coulson:||No clues yet as to who was controlling them.|
|Maria Hill:||For now, they appear to be targeting the Brotherhood of Mutants.|
|Professor X:||Director Fury. We must speak of the Brotherhood.|
|Nick Fury:||What's to speak of?|
|Nick Fury:||You're sure about this?|
|Professor X:||Avalanche claims to have information regarding the future of the Brotherhood to offer in exchange for our assistance. His mind is currently too panicked for me to ascertain exactly what it is, but he is telling the truth.|
|Tony Stark:||Just when you think you know who the bad guys are... it's Turncoat City around here.|
|Magneto:||This is not a time to be glib, Stark.|
|Tony Stark:||Well, it's true. The Brotherhood's going to run out of able bodies at this rate|
|Maria Hill:||Especially if we don't do something about this Sentinel force.|
|Nick Fury:||A plan is already in motion. We've got a new X-Man leading the search for Avalanche: Cannonball. You'll meet him in the field. Move out|
|Maria Hill:||Bastion has unleashed his Sentinel army on the Brotherhood. There's no way Mystique will be able to handle them.|
|Tony Stark:||This is going to sound cold-hearted but--|
|Magneto:||No. We will not stand idly by while any mutants die at the hands of the Sentinels.|
|Tony Stark:||Okay. Fine. So we'll fight the Sentinels that would be fighting Mystique and her gang. You think they'll be grateful?|
|Professor X:||I think that isn't the point.|
|Magneto:||The point is we will not stand by and permit the slaughter of mutants... and if you would, we have clearly misunderstood your ultimate goals.|
|Tony Stark:||Okay, we'll do it your way. This is me putting on kid gloves for dealing with the Brotherhood... at least until we get Avalanche on board the Helicarrier.|
|Professor X:||There are also Test Subjects marauding through the city. These bear the chemical signature of Green Goblin's serum.|
|Nick Fury:||One more thing we'll have to handle along the way. Let's go, people.|
Boss - MystiqueEdit
|Maria Hill:||We've found Mystique. She's trying to rally the last Brotherhood elements, but the Sentinels are overrunning them.|
|Agent Coulson:||Any sign of Avalanche?|
|Maria Hill:||None. Either the Sentinels got him, or...|
|Professor X:||They did not. He is still alive, and in hiding. I am trying to discover where, but it appears I am not the only interested party.|
|Magneto:||Let us see if Mystique will listen to reason.|
|Tony Stark:||That's funny. I remember Xavier saying the same thing about you not too long ago.|
|Magneto:||You're familiar, I'm sure, with the aphorisms about stopped clocks and blind squirrels?|
|Magneto:||Your Brotherhood leadership is not particularly distinguished thus far, is it?|
|We're doing fine without you. And if you've come to take the reins again, forget it.||Mystique:|
|Magneto:||That is not why I have come. I'm here to save mutant lives. Even yours.|
|I don't need saving. You do, traitor.||Mystique:|
|Magneto:||Traitor? Hardly. The Brotherhood is disintegrating. I am trying to salvage something from the wreckage.
You may be sure Bastion will offer you no such terms.
|Magneto:||It is difficult to hear myself called a traitor to mutants.|
|Professor X:||As always, consider the source.|
|Tony Stark:||Cheer up. We haven't let anyone get killed yet.|
