ISO-8 or Isotope-8 is a main plot point in Marvel: Avengers Alliance. Items are unlocked by researching various branches of the ISO research tree.
ISO-8s are used to boost a character's statistics. This is achieved by slotting Isotopes into a hero's or agent's uniform within the team management screen. The number of slots available for an Agent depends on the uniform equipped. Six uniform categories are available, with each offering different uniforms with different power levels (or slots) as your Heroes and Agent progress through the game.
Inserting an Isotope is permanent and can not be undone; however, there is the option of buying more than one uniform and inserting tailor-made powers. It is possible to replace Isotopes within the uniform, but that previous piece will be destroyed once this is done.
Types
- Chip - Available at the outset
- Fragment - Available at level 30
- Shard - Available at level 60
- Crystal - Available at level 100
- Reactive - Available at level 125
- Unstable - Available for a limited time as a resource in Special Operations missions
- Depleted - PVP item at the store
Colours
- Red ISO-8 increases Attack and Accuracy
- Blue ISO-8 increases Health and Stamina
- Yellow ISO-8 increases Defense and Evasion
- Orange ISO-8 increases Attack, Defense, Evasion and Accuracy
- Green ISO-8 increases Health, Stamina, Defense and Evasion
- Purple ISO-8 increases Health, Stamina, Attack and Accuracy
- Prismatic ISO-8 increases all stats
Gear Bonus
Gear Bonuses has a chance to provide a temporary boost to stats when attacking or attacked per amount of hits, only if an Agent or Hero has at least one Isotope-8 socketed. Here are the following gear bonuses:
- Attack - Increases attack and guaranteed hit
- Defense - Increases defense
- Accuracy - Guaranteed hit and crit
- Evasion - Guaranteed dodge attack/s
