If It's A War They Want

A total of 25 Tasks need to be completed in order to unlock and recruit Ares.

Tasks like fights have to be completed separately.

Tasks must be completed in sequence. However, defeating THE specific boss/miniboss and losing the fight DOES complete the task.

1. Test Our Mettle

If It's A War They Want - 1 of 25

• Defeat 5 Test Subjects
  • S.H.I.E.L.D. must contain the Test Subject threat before the U-Foes get to them. They can be found in Mission 1: Damage Control.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent

2. S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Field

• Complete 2 Deploys
  • Deploy heroes to assist the field teams on the ground with the Test Subjects in Mission 1: Damage Control.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1000 Silver

3. Know Thy Foe

If It's A War They Want - 3 of 25

• Defeat Ironclad
  • The U-Foes will do more harm than good. Defeat Ironclad to limit the collateral damage. He is a miniboss of Mission 1: Damage Control.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 200 for the Agent

• Use Bishop in Combat
  • Bishop is a Team-Up in Mission 1: Damage Control.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1 Command Point

5. Gift from the Gods

If It's A War They Want - 5 of 25

• Use Hercules' Gift of Battle
  • Gift of Battle is Hercules' second ability. Hercules is a Team-Up Mission 1: Damage Control.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1000 Silver

6. Never See Us Coming

If It's A War They Want - 6 of 25

• Research the Stealth Field to complete this task.
  • S.H.I.E.L.D. could use a reprieve from the heavy scrutiny of Rusk. Research the Stealth Field to complete this task.
• Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: Stealth Field

7. Ares-ted Development

If It's A War They Want - 7 of 25

• Defeat Ares
  • Stop Ares from making a huge mistake. Ares is the Boss of Mission 1: Damage Control.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1 Command Point

8. Show Your Determination

If It's A War They Want - 8 of 25

• Complete 5 PVP Battles
  • Compete in PVP to test your skills against other players. Hint: Practice matches count as battles.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent

9. Two For One

If It's A War They Want - 9 of 25

• Get 2 Stars of Mastery in Mission 1
  • Complete missions to add points to your cumulative score. Achieve a high enough score to earn a new Mastery Star!
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent

10. The True God of War

If It's A War They Want - 10 of 25

• Use Ares in Combat
  • Ares is a Team-Up in Spec Op 12, Missions 2 and 3.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1000 Silver

11. I Have The Power

If It's A War They Want - 11 of 25

• Create the Power Cell in the Lab
  • The Power Cell can be researched after acquiring the Blueprint: Power Cell 
• Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1000 Silver

12. What is Best in Life?

• Use Ares' Crush Your Enemies
  • Crush Your Enemies is Ares' fourth ability. Ares is a Team-Up in Spec Op 12 Mission 2 and 3.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent

13. The Little Spider

• Defeat Dark Widow
  • Dark Widow is a miniboss of Mission 2: The Best Defense.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 2000 Silver

14. Eye to Eye

If It's A War They Want - 14 of 25

• Defeat Dark Hawkeye
  • Dark Hawkeye is the Boss of Mission 2: The Best Defense.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent

15. All War Is Deception

• Use Ares' Art of War 2 Times
  • Art of War is Ares' first ability. Ares is a Team-Up in Spec Op 12 Mission 2 and 3.
• Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 2000 Silver

16. We Have The Power

• Upgrade the Power Cell to the Power Cell Mk II in the Lab
  • The Power Cell Mk II can be researched after acquiring the Blueprint: Power Cell Mk II.
• Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent

17. Rally The Troops

• Use 3 Distress Calls
  • You can only receive Distress Calls by visiting allies. Add allies to help you win more battles.
• Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent

18. Reach For The Stars

If It's A War They Want - 18 of 25

• Get 2 Stars of Mastery in Mission 2
  • Complete missions to add points to your cumulative score. Achieve a high enough score to earn a new Mastery Star!
• Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 200 for the Agent

19. Show Your Might

If It's A War They Want - 19 of 25

• Win 3 PVP Battles
  • Time to impress Ares! Compete in PVP and win 3 PVP Battles. Hint: Practice matches count as battles.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1 Command Point

20. Street Sweeper

If It's A War They Want - 20 of 25

• Defeat 10 Street Thugs
  • Street Thugs can be found in Mission 3: Gathering Darkness
• Requires 30 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent, Power Cell Mk III

21. Seeing Red

If It's A War They Want - 21 of 25

• Use Elektra in Combat
  • Elektra is a Team-Up in Mission 3: Gathering Darkness
• Requires 30 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 100 for the Agent

22. Thou Art No Thor

• Defeat Dark Thor
  • Dark Thor is a miniboss of Mission 3: Gathering Darkness.
• Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 3000 Silver

23. Like Father, Like Son

If It's A War They Want - 23 of 25

• Defeat Dark Wolverine
  • Dark Wolverine is the Boss of Mission 3: Gathering Darkness.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1 Command Point

24. Mission Accomplished

If It's A War They Want - 24 of 25

• Complete 3 Stars of Mastery in all Spec Op 12 Missions
  • Complete missions to add points to your cumulative score. Achieve a high enough score to earn a new Mastery Star!
• Requires 25 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 5000 Silver

25. Anti-Venom

• Defeat Venom
  • Venom is the Epic Boss in Mission 2: The Best Defense. HINT: Participate in Deploys as soon as they appear. This task requires Thor, Hercules and Shatterstar in order to spawn the epic boss
• Requires 25 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1 Command Point, Ares

• Defeat Ares with a Score over 67500
  • Ares is the Boss of Mission 1: Damage Control. Achieving this score may require Ares to be fought with Ironclad, Vapor, Vector and X-Ray in the same combat.
• Requires 10 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1 Command Point

2. Splitting Arrows

If It's A War They Want - Score Challenge 2

• Defeat Dark Hawkeye with a Score over 92000
  • Dark Hawkeye is the Boss of Mission 2: The Best Defense. Achieving this score may require Dark Hawkeye to be fought with Moonstone and Dark Widow in the same combat.
• Requires 15 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1 Command Point

3. The Best There Are

If It's A War They Want - Score Challenge 3

• Defeat Dark Wolverine with a Score over 105000
  • Dark Wolverine is the boss in the Mission 3: Gathering Darkness. Achieving this score may require Dark Wolverine to be fought with Vulture and Dark Thor in the same combat.
• Requires 15 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: 1 Command Point

4. Get This Guy a Bib

If It's A War They Want - Score Challenge 4

• Defeat Venom with a Score over 50000
  • Venom is the Epic Boss in Mission 2: The Best Defense. HINT: Participate in Deploys as soon as they appear.
• Requires 20 Gold to Auto-Finish
• Reward: Void Generator

Hints

• Task 2: Deploys may be completed outside the SO battles.
• Tasks 10, 12, 15: Certain High and Medium Threats have Ares as a Team-Up in Missions 2 and 3.
• Task 17: Distress Calls may be used outside the SO battles.
• Task 21: This Task can be done outside the Spec Ops. (if you have recruited Elektra)

Notes

• Task 22: This Task's title references the comic panel between Hercules and Dark Thor during the Civil War Story Arc. The Task's title, "Thou Art No Thor" is said by Hercules to Dark Thor.
