Captain Britain Dialogue 1

CAPTAIN BRITAIN

Iso-8 is a crisis that knows no country or border.

Great Britain stands with S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent.

Captain Britain Icon Large 1

Chapter 1 - Excalibur: Mission 4 - Vulture, MPEdit

Mission StartEdit

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Incursions make for strange bedfellows. We've observed Vulture working with the Brotherhood doing MGH/Iso-8-related experiments.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
What's that have to do with Incursions, Mr. One-Track Mind?

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Maybe nothing, Mr. Stark. I'm sure you're right.

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
We're getting reports of Test Subjects in and around the Hellfire Club HQ here in London. Hellfire guards are keeping them on a leash... mostly.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
That might mean Sugar Man has sweet-talked his way into the Club after all.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Or it might not. But either way, we're going to put them out of business.

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
Captain Britain has been tracking the Brotherhood heavies in London. He'll be with you in the field, Agent.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Right. Let's see how we do.

Mini-Boss - BoomerangEdit

StartEdit

The British are coming! The British are coming! Boomerang:
Boomerang Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
And you, my slovenly and unfunny lad, are going.

Make me. Boomerang:
Boomerang Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
You have your choice of colony to return to: the States or Down Under. If either will have you.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Do you want him, Director Fury? If not, Excalibur has a place to hold him.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
We'll take him, Captain Britain. Your offer is noted and appreciated, but S.H.I.E.L.D. tries not to inconvenience local authorities.

Mini-Boss - WhiplashEdit

RevealEdit

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Whiplash has set a group of Test Subjects loose in the Tube.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Clearly a diversion. What's he covering for?

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
You can ask him after you short out his whips, Brian. Unless we find out first.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
A race? You're on, Stark.

StartEdit

I love England. Old buildings, bad weather. Like Russia. Whiplash:
Whiplash Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Quite. Except for the history of democratic progress and civil liberties.

You're not welcome. Move along before I move you along. Oh! Too late.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I have a special animus for Russians. I'll admit it. Legacy of the Crimea, perhaps.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
I have a special animus for Whiplash. Legacy of him wrecking my car.

Boss - VultureEdit

StartEdit

Captain America, Captain Britain... criminy. Does everybody have a Captain nowadays?

I want to be a Captain. Make me one and I might not feed you to the Test Subjects.

Vulture:
Vulture Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Afraid there's a character test, old man. You wouldn't pass. Wanton violence, murder, criminal conspiracy... strictly no-go.

I'm waiting. Vulture:
Vulture Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
For...?

For you to say wot-wot. Vulture:
Vulture Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Ha! Quite. Well, shall we?

Oh, do let's. Vulture:
Vulture Icon

RepeatEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I owe you an apology. Wasn't at my best that last time. Perhaps this'll make up for it.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Tiresome. Do all you Yanks need to make snide comments about Britishisms?

Is there a horse any deader than that?

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Terribly sorry, old bean. You got Vulture?

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Oh, he's here. Do please come get him.

Epic Boss - Doctor OctopusEdit

StartEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Dr. Octavius, you're a dangerously insane criminal and Her Majesty's government considers you a threat.

Decent of you to let me know. But everyone is against me, and I go where I please! Doctor Octopus:
Doctor Octopus Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
That's what I expected. Still, one goes through the motions. You get out of my country either now or in the Helicarrier brig.

Space-time is rupturing around us and you're worried about me being a criminal? Fool! I am unlocking the secrets of the universe! I care nothing for your laws! Doctor Octopus:
Doctor Octopus Icon

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
That's it, Director Fury. If there are any more Brotherhood personnel working with the Hellfire Club in London, we don't know about them.

Professor X:
Professor X Dialogue
I believe he is correct. The Hellfire Club is still a threat, but Magneto's defection has lessened the Brotherhood's commitment to them.

Magneto:
Magneto Icon 1
I suggest you continue looking for both Hellfire and Brotherhood elements. Mystique's resolve hardens by the day.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Helluva job, Captain Britain. Please convey that to the rest of the Excalibur Team.

Feel free to cross the pond and join the fight over there, too.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Plenty to do here, but you know us. If there's need, we'll be there.

Chapter 1 - Excalibur: Mission 5 - God Save the QueenEdit

DeployEdit

StartEdit

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Freedom of the press is a huge pain in the ass.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Captain Britain, we can't have the Fourth Estate digging into the question of the Philosopher's Stone. It would be really helpful if you could... you know.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Use my stature and reputation to discredit a rumor even though I know it's actually true?

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
That's exactly what I was going to say. Yes. That would be great.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Well, I did it. Reporter even asked for my phone number.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
You dog.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Gave her yours instead.

Mission CompleteEdit

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Well, troops, we've come to the aid of our British cousins once again.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
One might point out that the American cousins required a bit of assistance as well.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Fair enough. Anyway, the Philosopher's Stone is hidden, the Hellfire Club is on the run--

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
And we still don't know where the Test Subjects are coming from, but...

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Excuse me. If I may...

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Coulson.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Excalibur's going to have to handle it from here. We've got a situation back in New York.

Someone's killing low-level bad guys. Also there's been an incident at the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Chapter 4 - Globetrotting: Mission 5 - LockdownEdit

Heroic BattleEdit

StartEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
And what do you think you're up to, milady in red?

Wait a minute. This isn't Grand Central Station! Crimson Cowl:
Crimson Cowl Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Nice try, lass. I have a feeling you know exactly where you're going.

And I have a feeling you won't be able to stop me. Crimson Cowl:
Crimson Cowl Icon

RepeatEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Think you made a wrong turn again, miss.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Who's that one?

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Oh, that would be one Justine Hammer, daughter of one of my many mortal enemies. She likes to call herself the Crimson Cowl.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Ought to call her the Blingin' Bird. I've still got spots in my eyes. Some flash she has.

Chapter 6 - When Opportunity Knocks: Mission 3 - Dark ComplicationsEdit

DeployEdit

StartEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I hate to miss out on the fight, when it's right here in my backyard.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
You won't miss out on anything. This is what the generals call a target-rich environment. Go on, give the Hellfire Club a little taste of the Otherworld.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Cheers.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
That was just a warmup, I hope.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
You bet. Stick around, we'll have plenty for you to do.

Special Operations - Vision of the Future: Mission 1 - Industrial RevolutionEdit

DeployEdit

StartEdit

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
Agent, meet Brian Braddock, better known as Captain Britain. He's made the trip from London representing Excalibur.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Pleasure.

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
We're sending some Iso-8 samples to our British cousins and we wanted a bit of extra security to get them there. Captain Britain was generous enough to volunteer.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Least I could do. Trans-Atlantic cooperation, special relationship, all that. Shall we?

Maria Hill:
Maria Hill Dialogue
First you'll be collecting the samples from Stark Tower.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Go ahead and use my helipad so you don't have to stop back here.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
The London researchers send their thanks.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Be careful over there. You never know when the bad guys might get a yen to go transcontinental.

Special Operations - Sins of the Fathers: Mission 3 - Heart of DarknessEdit

DeployEdit

StartEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I can get a sense of what kinds of assets are or are not being mobilized. My guess is the Hellfire Club will hang back and see who wins.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Sounds like a good guess. But why don't you take a look and see?

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
The Hellfire Club is staying out of this. But they are watching with interest.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Voyeurism is one of their favorite activities.

Special Operations - The Dark World: Mission 1 - Our Darkest DayEdit

DeployEdit

StartEdit

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Ahoy, Captain Britain. We could use a little bit of the Otherworld on our side.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Say the word. What do you need?

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
While we figure out how to pinch off these portals, maybe you could... what's the phrase?

Hunt down this band of Dark Elves and give them a good kicking. Did I get that right?

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Sounds funny coming from you. But yeah, more or less.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Done and done. But along the way I ran into one of the Dark Elves who was quite a bit... let's say he's quite a challenge.

Know anything about that, Stark?

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Only what you just said. But now we're going to look into it.

Special Operations - Game On: Mission 1 - Street Fighter (Hero Side)Edit

Epic Boss - Taskmaster/ConstrictorEdit

StartEdit

Looking for the way out, here... Constrictor:
Constrictor Icon

It's Murderworld, Frank. The only way out is to kill our way out. You have the stomach for it? Taskmaster:
Taskmaster Icon

Kill, kill, kill. Is that all you think about? Me, I just want a steak and a brew. Neither is here, therefore let's get out. Constrictor:
Constrictor Icon

Suit yourself. Either way we have to go through John Bull here. Taskmaster:
Taskmaster Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
As you said, suit yourself.

Special Operations - Game On: Mission 1 - Street Fighter (Villain Side)Edit

Epic Boss - Spider Man/Captain BritainEdit

RevealEdit

I've taken this opportunity to make some improvements to Murderworld. Never stop pushing for perfection, I always say.

The only way I can truly know whether my upgrades succeeded was to invite Murderworld's first occupants for a second visit. So... Welcome back, Captain Britain and Spider-Man!

Arcade:
Arcade Icon

Once was enough, if you ask me. Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon

This one's pretty spiffy compared to the other one. But they both feel a little murdery. Spider-Man:
Spider-Man Icon

Constrictor:
Constrictor Icon 1
The rules don't change. A littler murder is the ticket outta here, and I'm one step closer to collecting my reward once I'm done with you.

StartEdit

If I come out of Murderworld without some giant drooly intergalactic parasite grafted onto my genome, I'll feel good about it. Spider-Man:
Spider-Man Icon

Constrictor:
Constrictor Icon 1
Not sure you're going to be feeling good about anything in ten minutes.

Ah. Bit of a threat here. To be expected in Murderworld. Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon

Which way is the exit? The signage here is definitely not up to code. Spider-Man:
Spider-Man Icon

Constrictor:
Constrictor Icon 1
Look, if only one of us can get out, I'm going to make sure it's me. No hard feelings.

Right. That calls for the direct approach. Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon

Special Operations - Apocalypse: Mission 2 - A Team Divided (London)Edit

Mission StartEdit

Psylocke:
Psylocke Icon 1
Welcome back to the Smoke. Avalanche has preceded you, and I think he has Beast with him... although the mental image I got wasn't exactly the Beast I knew.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
We'll take all the help we can get, Miss Braddock. Anything else we should know before we start the operation?

Psylocke:
Psylocke Icon 1
My brother tangled with Selene recently, if that's helpful. She won't be too far away from any of this.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I wouldn't be shocked if she's running the London side of whatever operation Sinister and the Brotherhood are organizing.

Captain America:
Captain America Icon 1
Neither would I. But let's get out there and find out. More importantly, let's find Hank McCoy

Mini-Boss - DragonessEdit

RevealEdit

Captain America:
Captain America Icon 1
Speaking of terrorists, there's Dragoness.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I'll take this one. What's she doing in there?

Psylocke:
Psylocke Icon 1
I don't think Beast is there. He's nearby, though.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
We'll see what our Dragoness knows about it.

StartEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
You're wrapped up in some nasty stuff this time. Kidnapping X-Men, forcibly mutating Test Subjects... decidedly not cricket.

Stay out of it. This is mutant business. You don't belong. Dragoness:
Dragoness Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
If it happens in England, it's my business. Give up McCoy and you'll only see prison. Unlike you, we're taking the civilized approach.

Which is precisely why this is a battle you will not win. What you call civilization is a worship of weakness. Dragoness:
Dragoness Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
We all read our Nietzsche in school, lass. Don't bore me with it again.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Nothing here. No trace of McCoy.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
We're getting most of the Test Subjects back under control, at least. So far the damage to the area is minimal.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Iceman, how goes the search for Selene?

Iceman:
Iceman Icon 1
Thought I had her a minute ago, but she's tricky. Cat-and-mouse games aren't my strong suit, you know?

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
We should consider the possibility that Iceman's being set up for an ambush, boss.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Consider it considered. After what happened to Rogue and Beast, we should be planning for an ambush around every corner.

Special Operations - Apocalypse: Mission 3 - Rumble of Distant Hooves (London)Edit

Mission StartEdit

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Agent, we're sending Wolverine out on a mission to find Beast--or maybe we should call him Pestilience. While Wolverine searches, we've got a Sentinel problem to handle.

They're landing all over London, responding to Apocalypse's mutant uprising.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
With typical Sentinel finesse, they're firing on any persons they consider a potential threat.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
We've got lives to save... and a Horseman to unseat.

Wolverine:
Wolverine Icon 1
Bad situation. I like Hank, but war is hell.

Mini-Boss - SeleneEdit

RevealEdit

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Selene has made an appearance. Looks like she's working up some kind of intricate spell. Maybe setting things up for Beast?

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I'm looking right at her, Coulson. Just took apart a Sentinel and saw her when the dust settled.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Excellent, Captain Braddock. I believe you and Selene have unfinished business?

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
That we do.

StartEdit

Does the Otherworld hate mutants, too? Very well. After we have won the battle in this realm, we shall continue it there. Selene:
Selene Icon

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
If you'd drop your grudge long enough to clear your head, you'd see that Apocalypse doesn't care about you. To him, you're breeding stock.

You'll forgive me if I put my trust in him rather than you. This war has been a long time coming. You can't talk your way out of it now. Selene:
Selene Icon

RepeatEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I always figured you were too smart to be a dupe, but Apocalypse is proving me wrong.

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
She's gone. Lots of energy for the talking, not so much stomach for the fight.

Wolverine:
Wolverine Icon 1
I just saw her go by. Running to hide behind our pal Pestilence, maybe.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Have you located Beast, Wolverine?

Wolverine:
Wolverine Icon 1
I can smell him. He's not far.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Good. Remove Sentinels as you encounter them, please. But now our main focus is locating and capturing Beast.

Boss - PestilenceEdit

RevealEdit

Wolverine:
Wolverine Icon 1
Found him.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
I imagine he's hard to miss, what with the plagues suddenly striking everyone in the area.

Wolverine:
Wolverine Icon 1
Yeah, this is one of those times where the ol' healing factor comes in handy.

Mission CompleteEdit

Professor X:
Professor X Dialogue
Agent Coulson. Beast appeared in New York shortly after Wolverine tangled with him here.

That's where Apocalypse is planning his final showdown... so that's where we need to be.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
We'll be right there with you.

Agent Coulson:
Agent Coulson Dialogue
Much appreciated, Captain Braddock. Excalibur is always a welcome addition to the team.

Special Operations - Eclipse Phase: Mission 3 - Split the Difference (Lamia)Edit

Mini-Boss - Captain BritainEdit

RevealEdit

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Captain Britain's cut off our approach to the Quinjet. Psylocke's our closest asset. This is going to be awkward.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Just how Dracula wants it. He's pulling out all the stops to hold us here while he tries to get the book.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
Psylocke? Your brother's headed right for you. We can't get to the Quinjet until we get--

Psylocke:
Psylocke Icon 1
Yes. I know. Although one wonders why you can't just fly bloody commercial.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
I'm sorry, have we met? Commercial? Me?

StartEdit

Yield up the book and your S.H.I.E.L.D. allies may depart. Not you, though, I'm afraid. The Braddock twins are needed here.

Dracula has need of the book, my sister. Let us not bicker.

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon

Psylocke:
Psylocke Icon 1
Oh, we won't bicker, Bri. What we're going to do is much more fun than that.

We're going to fight. You and me, no holds barred. Because that's the only way I'm going to snap your mind out of Dracula's control.

Then you face the powers of the Otherworld. Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon

Psylocke:
Psylocke Icon 1
Wouldn't have it any other way.

LoseEdit

This ends when you hand over the book. Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon

CompleteEdit

Captain Britain:
Captain Britain Icon 1
Well done, Betsy. Let's go get the bastard.

Psylocke:
Psylocke Icon 1
Sounds good to me.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
Hold on. If you're going to take Dracula on directly, you might want to make sure the rest of Excalibur is in their right minds.

Blade:
Blade Icon 1
Or we can take the shortcut and restore them by putting a stake through Dracula.

Nick Fury:
Nick Fury Dialogue
That's another option. I'm just saying, think it through.

Tony Stark:
Tony Stark Dialogue
But fast. We need to get the book to Strange.
